How Do The Winter SportFit Packages Work :

Over the years, we have grown fully considered physiotherapy plans for winter sports (Skiing & Snowboarding) at Wimbledon Clinic Physio.

We have two programmes, BASE & PEAK.

The BASE & PEAK programmes are very similar in muscles they condition. And both work the core & leg muscles needed to perform without fatigue. In contrast, the more developed enthusiast may graduate to PEAK to refine their balance skills and condition their stabilisers.  Perform better - using the PEAK program.

While this programme is generic for both Ski and Snowboard sports, don't be too surprised if we recommend the BASE program for you. 

Our 'SkiFit / BoardFit Consult' may determine that your precision control in hips, ankles and core muscles may have been neglected, even if you seasoned on the slopes.

The BASE Program Is Not A Level Of Experience But Rather Specific Fitness

Unfortunately, any seasoned skiers still can dissipate their fitness. And lose agility to perform intricate foot/ankle work and shift their body weight from hip to hip.

These are the integral conditioning components of a genuinely masterful skier/ snowboarder.

INTENSITY OF THE PROGRAMMES:

Although our first programme is called 'BASE', it's not a wishy-washy programme you can find on the internet: Be prepared for a bit of a workout (mind and body).

With that said, the fitness challenges in the BASE programme are all tailored at the consult, don't be afraid of a militant approach.

We approach every client with a smile, and the aim is to have fun while improving the machine, that is, Your body.

How Hard Is Base?

We will start you at a level your ability dictates, and your confidence allows.

You can enter the BASE program having never seen a flake of snow or enter the BASE with a long history of seasonal skiing.

We created the BASE programme to challenge your ability & build capacity but not fatigue the fun out of the process.

Peak

Fresh Powder

Here we utilise slide boards, tramp skis + jib and balance beams to create a sport-specific challenge to refine control to the small intrinsic muscles.

These challenges are done without our shoes to stimulate the receptors in the barefoot. But also in your boots and our ski addiction set up to give you a way to tie the conditioning work into the sport.

PEAK is more fun and engaging and makes for a great Instagram story.
