Why Do You Need RunFit

Run coaching from Wimbledon Clinic Physio

Overuse injuries can occur from:

  • Training/ Movement Errors
  • Inappropriate Surfaces

  • Loose | Erratic Terrain

  • Improper Footwear

As a result of training/movement errors, overuse injuries are more common but harder to spot by the athlete. And they also build with a slow creep that embeds itself into your gait.

Therefore, overuse injuries can have longer build-up than quick onset injuries such as sprains/ strains of ligament or muscle.

These movement error-related injuries often return without gait coaching. And often have associated peak-and-trough sensation which lures the athlete into a false sense that the condition is either gone or is getting better.

The most common overuse injuries are patellofemoral pain (pain under the knee cap) syndrome (runner’s knee), iliotibial band friction syndrome (ITB), plantar fasciitis, meniscal injuries, tibial stress syndrome and patella tendonitis.

With risks like the above, we decided there was a purpose of Running education through the RunFit program.

Lift Off

RunFit LIFT-OFF - £399.00

FACE-To-FACe - COACHING - PRACTICAL COSTS

Package Includes

45 min - Biomechanical & Postural assessment.

After the assessment, the LIFT-OFF programme will focus on your ability. And delves into the weakest links with an aim to sure-up your running gait.

This ensures no wasted time in conditioning. Ignoring the good parts of your technique and getting down-and-dirty with the bits your missing.

Home Training Advice: 

Digital rehab prescription is given to each LIFT-OFF client again it's tailored around ability. Home space access to equipment, gym access etc. We want you to fill the gaps between sessions with productive and tailored training.

Basic (x4) follow-ups

During each follow-up, there are both repetition and building elements of strength and agility.

Your physio we go through two new exercises/ concepts crucial to a strong and powerful run each session.

Rehab commitments will be Important to a gait that wastes little energy and allows you to run quicker.

Runfit biomechanical assessment Involves three-point foot analysis, three joint lower limb review.

This involves the fine points of running conditioning which can be translated into peak performance in any sport. 

5 follow-ups are needed to complete LIFT-OFF. After the LIFT-OFF assessment, you complete the course (4 weekly and then a single review 4-weeks later - all included in the package).

As stated LIFT-OFF gives a real boost to performance but it is not a substitute for follow-ups & throughout conditioning coaching.

These can be obtained as bolt-ons so your running status can be both controlled and progressed.

RHYTHM

RunFit RHYTHM - £650.00

Package Includes:

45 min - Biomechanical & Postural assessment. - Runfit biomechanical assessment Involves three-point foot analysis, three joint lower limb review.

After the evaluation, the RHYTHM plan will focus on your technique. And probes into the faintest points of gait weakness with an aim to sure-up your running gait.

This assures time is productive when starting your conditioning but RHYTHM is focused on repetition good honest conditioning is done 3 times a week and we wanted a program that could offer this and match your physiology.

Home Training Advice: 

Digital rehab prescription is given to each RHYTHM client again it's tailored to your ability. Home space access to equipment, gym access etc.

Basic (x10) follow-ups

During each follow-up, there are both repetition and building elements of strength and agility.

Your physio we go through two new exercise/ concepts crucial to a strong and powerful run each session. these rehab comments will be Important to a gait that wastes little wasted energy.

This involves the fine points of running conditioning which can be translated into peak performance in any sport. 

After the assessment, 6 follow-ups are needed to be complete at a 2 per week for the first 3 weeks for BEST RESULTS!

As stated RHYTHM gives a real boost to performance but also give adequate face time and really links you with your running physio.

10 follow-ups are needed to complete the course (2 per week x 3 weeks, then two x weekly appointments and then 2 x  monthly check-ins)

RunFit

ABSOLUTE 

This includes everything in the 'RunFit Total Package' but adds Nutritional Blood Testing and IgG Antibody Food testing made popular by professional athletes.

The addition of blood testing creates informed guidance on minerals missing in diet or essential fuels been used too readily by exertion.

Info can be talked through with a therapist to react to information effectively (changes may include supplementation and diet changes based on data) It also looks for inflammation blood markers (factors) which can indicate overtraining.

While it doesn't ignore excluding foods that you may have been overexposed to. Or sometimes the body/ the genes don't seem to like.

NOTE: A centrifuge blood sample will require a visit to a separate lab in central London.
